Let me quickly explain the role concealer plays in my makeup routine. As a woman in her mid 40s, concealer is THE most important product for me. It’s the instant pick-me-up. It’s the one product I will put on, and go on my way. So, I’m always on the lookout for great ones.
I recently tried out the brand new Guerlain Terracotta Concealer– Perfecting Natural Corrector.

It was released here in Europe, a few weeks ago, and being such a huge fan of their Terracotta Le Teint Foundation, I jumped on it. Interestingly, the thing that immediately stood out to me was the neutral undertone all 16 concealer shades had.
I’m still not sure why Guerlain chose to make all the concealer neutral, but as someone who has a warm undertone, I can also use neutral tones successfully. There is a chart on their site, to guide you, that shows which concealer shades will match your Terracotta Foundation shade. I wear 4W in the foundation, so I went with 4N, for the concealer.
I was worried it might be too close to the foundation, because I actually like my concealers to brighten, so I typically go a shade down. However, it turns out 4N still brightened really, really well.
What stood out to me was the lack of creasing. I have a couple of fine lines under my eyes, and I’ve gotten used to concealer sinking into them. While I’ve gotten used to it, it will always annoy me. I know too much product will cause creasing instantly, so I went in pretty modestly with the Guerlain Terracotta Concealer. There was no creasing!! I added a bit more, no creasing. I added just a touch more, and no creasing!
That was a major win for me. I also loved that it was buildable, and lightweight enough that it never felt, or looked, like too much product. It covered the under eye area beautifully and instantly lifted my face. I’m quite the fan of this one. Guerlain is two for two with their new Terracotta base products.
