New Chanel Fall/Winter 2024 Clairvoyance Makeup Collection

The Chanel Fall/Winter 2024 Clairvoyance Makeup Collection is here! I grabbed Les 4 Ombres in Divination, Les Tarots Blush in Blood Orange, Noir Allure Mascara in Amethyst, and Le Vernis in Phénomène.

The Clairvoyance Collection dropped in Europe, and will be in the US very soon.  Part of the Chanel Cometes Collective, where different designers give us makeup from their point of view, this is Cécile Paravina’s first collection.

There are two Eyeshadow Quads in this collection, with Divination being the most exciting of the two.  We have a lilac shade, an amethyst shade, a mustard shade, and a vibrant, green, shade with heavy yellow influence.  The other color story is a more orange/brown one.  Between the two, this was the one I didn’t have in my Chanel makeup collection, and the one that would be more challenging, immediately drawing me to it.

The lilac shade performed beautifully on me.  It came alive on my eyes! The mustard shade is darker than it looks in the pan, and makes for a really complimentary neutral shadow on my brown skin, with yellow undertones.  The sage green also wears darker than it looks in the pan, and is such an interesting hue.  I used it as a liner, for a fun burst of color in the eye look.  The only slight issue I had was with the purple shade.  It was a little patchy on me.  I never have issues with Chanel eyeshadows, so I know it’s not a, “me problem.” I was able to work around it, but it was a tad patchy.

Overall, I think the eyeshadow is pure fun.  They’re colors you’d never consider together, but somehow work.  While I wore all 4 shades in my initial look, I’d use fewer going forward, for a simpler look.

Les Tarots de Chanel Blush Blood Orange

Two matte blushes are part of the collection.  I grabbed Blood Orange, a bright orange, (you guessed it) shade.  LOL.  The other shade is the lovely Lavender.  I’ve been having a bit of a love affair with Chanel, and their lilac/lavender makeup shades, since last year, and it took everything in me not to grab the lavender blush.  In an effort to not buy complete collections, I had to get a grip and choose one.  I also think the Lavender blush would be too light for my tan/medium skin to get away with it as a blush.

Let’s talk about the beautiful design on the blush.  Gabrielle Chanel’s lucky number “5,” on one of the tarot cards, is right at home in this Clairvoyant collection.  It catches your eye straight away!  Surely one of Chanel’s strengths, if not their greatest strength, is their use of branding.   The embossing designs they put on their makeup products create instant collector’s items.  Have I bought products because of the design? Maybe!

The brand describes this Blood Orange shade as a, “coraly orange,” and I can attest to that.  On my brown skin, it is a really lovely burst of color.  The brand is no stranger to an orange blush, but I couldn’t resist.

This is such an interesting shade of orange.  It has a bright burst of color,  that I don’t get from my other, warmer, Chanel orange blushes.  I think they nailed the blush name, because it really does remind me of the orange in the fruit.  It’s very pigmented, and blended very, very, easily.  At 46, I don’t want any makeup product I own, to stress my skin to apply.  This is a winner, in color and performance!

Noir Allure Mascara Amethyste

Full disclaimer, I don’t have a deep love for colored mascaras.  I’d say it’s more of a puppy love kind of thing.  It has to be a color that is not too bright, or overpowering.  Enter the Noir Allure Amethsyt Mascara.

It’s a beautiful, bright, purple shade, at least on the wand. It wears much darker than I’d anticipated, which made me love it even more.  In my mid 40s, I like a classic black mascara most of the time, but every now and again, I want to spice things up.  This mascara gives me that spice.  You have to be pretty closeup to appreciate the shade, and that’s how I like it!  The beauty for me is in its flirty subtlety. It beautifully elongates my lashes, very quickly.  With a really simple eye look, the mascara will stand out even more.  I think it’s a fun way to play with color, as you get older, without feeling like a teen.

Le Vernis Phénomène 189

How I do love a Chanel nail polish!  Give me a moody one, with iridescence in greens and deep purples, and I’m sold! Phénomène is all of that.  This is an easy fall favorite shade.  It gives you a bit of mystery, and fun, as the colors will change with the light.  This was another perfect fit for the divination theme

I’m a sucker for the brand, and I’ve been really enjoying their Cometes Collective makeup releases.  I think they’ve injected fun into their makeup and it’s really good to hear from the different women, and different perspectives, and life experiences.  Cécile Paravina nailed her first collection, and met the brief perfectly.  Another fun one!
