A Little About Cuyana
Cuyana is a woman of color led, sustainable, brand. As a black woman, small business owner myself, I came to admire the brand’s ethos, along the women behind the brand. I plan on doing a few Cuyana blogs, but I thought their Travel Case Set was a great place to start. They’re the perfect brand for my lifestyle portion of this blog!
Meghan Made Me Do It!
Let’s jump right into what “Meghan Made Me Do It!” is all about, because you will see it again in this blog, as its own sub-category. Growing up in NYC meant celebrities never moved me too much. You could run into a celeb any and everywhere, either by chance, or an event, or through someone you knew. I have met/known a lot of celebs, big and small, in my life. Along the way, I’ve amassed some cool stories, but my nonchalance was present every time. All this to say, I’m not easily impressed or influenced!
Enter Meghan Markle. While her personal life made me pay closer attention, in fact it was her grace, intelligence, infinite strength and kindness that made me stay. And, boy, her taste… It was that taste, in the form of a leather bag, (that bag will get its own blog soon) that introduced me, and no doubt many others, to Cuyana, some years ago. At some point, I started saying, “Meghan made me do it!” each time she influenced a purchase. Her influence is more widely known as, “The Meghan Effect.” While she put Cuyana on my radar, the quality, coupled with the brand’s mission, is how I became a repeat customer.
Cuyana Dark Olive Travel Case Set
The Travel Case Set includes one large, and one small, beauty case. The sets have been recently updated to have an, “easy-to-clean leather interior.” They are 100% sustainable and 100% Argentinian pebbled leather, with a luxurious, matte, finish. The design is really simple, but chic, and that’s a top reason I love this brand. I’m not a flashy person. When choosing leather accessories, specifically, I do love objects that are understated and chic!
Full disclosure, I had a teal set that I loved. However, after a few months, the color didn’t resonate with me as much. Rather than keeping it, I was thankfully able to resell it through Cuyana’s resale site, Cuyana Revive. I then decided to choose a color that was more neutral, and one I wouldn’t tire of easily. That is why I went with the beautiful, dark olive.
As I said earlier, the inside of each bag is now easier to clean, and it is the same shade as the exterior. Additionally, the larger bag comes with a pocket inside as well.
How I use my Travel Set Case
The small bag is my everyday makeup bag. It fits beautifully in my Cuyana bags, and other bags. It can hold any essentials one might need.
The larger bag is perfect for travel. That is where I keep skin care, makeup & hair care. It fits a lot of products, much more than in my photo below. You’ll be surprised!
When I’m not using my bags, I love to use them as decor. I work from home, and you can find them displayed somewhere in my workroom. If you need a clutch, certainly you could use either as a bag, should you want to.
The only problem with this Travel Case Set is they come in lots of colors, with seasonal options too, which means I’ll certainly be getting at least one more, at some point!
