Six years in the making, the new Westman Atelier Lip Suede Matte Lipsticks are here!! There are 10 in all, and they’re grouped as Pink & Berries, Nudes and Reds. I grabbed Je Rêve a, “blushy nude” as the brand describes, Lou Lou, a “barolo red” and Rue, a “taupey nude.”
The cats out the bag, I prefer nudes to every other option. LOL. I started with 3, but have my eyes on 2 more. The color range should suit complexions from the deepest shades, to the lighter one.
*Edited to add, I got the other 2. LOL. Below is photo of all 5 shades.

Now, Westman Atelier is my favorite makeup brand. They’re my go-tos, and every look is an enhanced version of myself. They are mid 40s friendly, clean and easy! I’ve been making videos with their products for years now. I’ve got at least one of each product they have. So, when I saw they’d finally be releasing the, much requested, single lipsticks, I was instantly excited.

Je Rêve
This is a lovely pink nude color on me. My first impression is just how airy, and lightweight, the lipstick is. This is a shade on me I could easily pair with a lip liner, or wear it by itself. It has a nice opacity, but did require an extra layer to cover my pigmented lips completely. It did not sink into my fine lines, which is so important.

Lou Lou
What a moody one this is!! I Absolutely adore this deep red berry shade. She’s gorgeous. When I say I applied no pressure, I mean it. Just gently swiping it across the lips produced a beautiful pigmentation. This is the kind of shade that Je Reve would have looked good of the middle of too. But, boy, what a statement on its own. This covered my lips very quickly, and it didn’t sink in either.

Rue
It was love at first swipe. I absolutely LOVE a brown lipstick, and Rue is magical on me. What’s funny is, it wears like a perfect nude for the most pigmented parts of my lips. It reminds me of the 90s. So, there is a retro vibe, but also, it’s perfectly suited for now. I can’t get enough of this shade. No sinking in, and this too, like Lou Lou, covered my lips very quickly.

These lipsticks are refillable, but when I reached out, I was told refills won’t be available until 2025. Their site says they’re coming soon. So, I’m not sure. I’d like to hope they’ll be here sooner, rather than later.
Läcker
Läcker is described as a, “coral flush.” While I didn’t get this shade with my first order, I finally got it. This looked like a perfect color for me to wear with a brown liner. Let me be very clear, the color on its own is too light for me, but I bought it specifically to wear with a liner, and it didn’t disappoint. This is a perfect shade as we move into the warmer months. Because it is really light on my pigmented lips, it does require an extra swipe of color.

Piqué
This had my attention as soon as photos were released, but at the last moment, I chose Lou Lou over Piqué. I finally have her though, and she is a beaut. This shade is a, “tawny nude.” It wears on me as the most perfect mauve/nude. It’s an easy, every day, every season, shade.

What the brand says.
Cushiony comfort, effortless glide, ultra-saturated, hydro-matte finish.
Here ingredients include hyaluronic acid, kayolin clay, meadowfoam extract, peptides, vitamins C & E

The packaging is chic as ever. If there is one thing Westman Atelier will give us, it’s chic packaging. These thoughtfully packaged lipsticks come with a mirrored cap. HELLO!!! What a great idea! Another bonus is their is a hint of cocoa I pick up, from some ingredient in the lipstick. The light smell of chocolate is divine!

I have the brand’s Lip Suede Compacts, which require a lipstick brush, or a finger for application, and I sense they were obvious inspirations for the shades in the single lipsticks. Another fantastic launch from Gucci Westman, and Westman Atelier. I genuinely think these Lip Suede Matte Lipsticks will be quite popular, amongst a variety of women. Gorgeous job!
